The basic formula
Minimum selling price
Selling price = Cost of goods + Marketplace fees + Shipping + Tax/VAT + Payment fees + Target profit.
Don't forget chargeable (volumetric) weight
Shipping is charged on chargeable weight (the greater of actual weight and L×W×H/5000; Clothing lines are charged on actual weight only). Check the route rates to get the exact shipping cost for each order.
Costs that are easy to miss
- International payment and withdrawal fees.
- Tax/VAT (DDP/IOSS) if you pay it.
- Return costs and your return rate.
- Remote-area surcharges.
- The EU customs fee of €5 per HS code on parcels to the EU (from 1 November 2026).

- It depends on your strategy: free shipping (built into the price) usually converts better, while a separate shipping fee is more transparent. What matters is not leaving any cost out.
