What is ePacket?
ePacket is an international small-parcel shipping service launched in 2011, originally through a partnership between Asian postal operators and the United States Postal Service (USPS). It lets e-commerce sellers send small orders abroad at low cost, with tracking.
Today ePacket is a popular choice for sellers on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, TikTok Shop, Shopify and other platforms who need to get small parcels to international buyers quickly and cheaply, with a clear tracking trail. VIO ePacket operates through the Yun Express network, with DDP/IOSS solutions.
ePacket parcel requirements
- The rate card covers parcels up to 5 kg; above 5 kg, VIO quotes separately.
- Maximum size 60 × 50 × 40 cm; USA, Belgium, Ireland and the Netherlands 60 × 40 × 35 cm; US-Saver 55 × 40 × 35 cm.
- Each parcel's value must be under the destination's limit: USA ≤ USD 250, UK < GBP 135, EU < EUR 150, Canada ≤ USD 99, Japan ≤ USD 110.
- The recipient pays any destination taxes (except with DDP/IOSS).

- EU parcels: an extra €5 (≈ 150,000₫) per HS code, not included in the rates.

- Free pickup in Da Nang and Hanoi when you send at least 5 kg or at least 10 orders per pickup; otherwise 50,000₫ (≈ US$1.95) per pickup.

How to pack for ePacket
Packing to standard keeps goods safe and lowers the risk of parcels being held or returned.
- The rate card covers parcels up to 5 kg (parcels over 5 kg are quoted separately); maximum size 60 × 50 × 40 cm; USA, Belgium, Ireland and the Netherlands 60 × 40 × 35 cm; US-Saver 55 × 40 × 35 cm.
- Use a sturdy carton or a PE bag; fill gaps with paper or foam so items cannot shift in transit. US-Clothing ships in poly mailer bags.
- Seal securely and label clearly with sender and recipient details.
- Declare the true value and keep each parcel under the destination's limit (USA ≤ USD 250, UK < GBP 135, EU < EUR 150, Canada ≤ USD 99, Japan ≤ USD 110); the recipient pays any destination taxes that apply.
Restricted and prohibited items

- What are the maximum weight and value for an ePacket parcel?
- The ePacket rate card covers parcels up to 5 kg (VIO quotes separately above 5 kg), with a maximum size of 60 × 50 × 40 cm; USA, Belgium, Ireland and the Netherlands 60 × 40 × 35 cm; US-Saver 55 × 40 × 35 cm. Each parcel's value must be under the destination's limit: USA ≤ USD 250, UK < GBP 135, EU < EUR 150, Canada ≤ USD 99, Japan ≤ USD 110; for other countries VIO confirms the limit when taking your order. Goods above the limit should go by Express or a commercial cargo service, and VIO will advise you on the right route.
- How long does delivery to the USA take?
- Around 5–8 working days with US-Standard (last mile entirely by USPS) and 5–12 days with US-Saver (lower rate, delivered by USPS or UniUni), depending on the destination state and the time of year (excluding weekends and public holidays). - What if the country I need is not on the main routes?
- Use ePacket Extra: 206 destinations beyond the main routes, including South Korea, Taiwan, India, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, China, Turkey and many countries in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Most countries accept parcels up to 2 kg; Southeast Asia, China, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Egypt accept up to 5 kg. Check the rate for each country on the ePacket Extra page.
- What are DDP and IOSS, and will my buyers have to pay tax?
- On EU routes using an IOSS number and on DDP-supported routes, duties and VAT are handled in advance, so the recipient pays nothing on delivery and fewer buyers refuse their parcels. VIO helps with the customs declaration.
- How are ePacket rates calculated?
- Rates depend on the destination route and the chargeable weight: the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (length × width × height in cm / 5000). All Clothing lines (including US-Clothing) are charged on actual weight only. Parcels to the EU incur an extra customs fee of €5 (≈ 150,000₫) per HS code, not included in the rates. The current rate card applies from 1 November 2026; for small parcels, rates are much lower than express courier rates, in exchange for longer delivery times.
- Where can I track my order?
- Every order has its own tracking number, updated at each leg of the journey. You can track it any time at https://tracking.vioshipping.com/.
- Does VIO pick up from my address?
- Yes. In Da Nang and Hanoi, pickup is free when each pickup is at least 5 kg or at least 10 orders, otherwise 50,000₫ (≈ US$1.95) per pickup; from other areas, send your parcels to a VIO warehouse. Advice on packing to ePacket standards is free.
